CBD
What is CBD?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a chemical compound found in the hemp plant, along with THC and other cannabinoids. CBD is currently being researched for effects on the human body related to inflammation, sleep, pain, and anxiety.
Is CBD a natural product?
Yes, CBD is a 100% naturally occurring compound that comes directly from the hemp plant and is not synthetically made.
Do your products have THC in them?
Our products have almost no THC content. Canopy Growth uses CBD isolate rather than full-spectrum or broad-spectrum CBD distillate, which can contain more THC. Our CBD isolate typically contains 300-500 parts per million THC (0.03-0.05% THC). These THC levels are far below the federal legal limit of 3,000 parts per million (0.3% THC) and are reduced even further to trace concentrations when the CBD isolate is added into our finished product along with other ingredients (such as the addition of a carrier oil and peppermint oil).
Will your products get me high?
No. Unlike THC, CBD is not intoxicating and will not create a euphoric state of mind.
Is CBD legal?
Yes, under the 2018 Farm Bill CBD is legal to sell. Each state has its own laws regarding the legality of CBD and therefore the legality of products can vary from state to state.
What is CBD used for?
Common perceived benefits, which are not clinically confirmed yet, include pain relief, anti-inflammatory properties, anxiolytic properties & stress management, sleep assistance, addiction & withdrawal management, and epilepsy management.
Is CBD the same as marijuana?
No. While both CBD and marijuana come from the cannabis plant species, they are derived from different plants. CBD is derived from the hemp plant which is bred to be low-THC, while marijuana is derived from the marijuana plant which is bred to be high-THC.
